The Famous Traditional Inka Trail To Machupicchu 4D/3N 


The well known and magical Inca Trail to Machupicchu is considered among the most important trekking trails in the world because of the exquisite beauty of its natural surroundings. It includes different ecological areas from high Andean plain ecosystems to an impressive cloud forest in Machupicchu area.

Your hike is conducted by experienced guides that will make your trip pleasant and safe. All camping equipment will be carried by native "quechua" porters that will make your journey a comfortable one, enhancing your Andean experience. The meals are cooked by experts in local and international cuisine, vegetarian option.

ITINERARY

Day 1. KM 82 / WAYLLABAMBA. By bus to km 82 and we start our trek escorted by native "quechua¨ porters going through semi-arid area along the Urubamba river valley , with magnificent views of the snow capped mountain called Veronica (20,200' ). It's an easy introductory day of no more than 5 hours walk. Arriving to the campsite at Wayllabamba going through Llactapata, an ancient Inca citadel . You will enjoy this less visited campsite away from the crowds .(L+D).

Day 2. WAYLLABAMBA / PAQAYMAYU. Early, we walk past the Tres Piedras, where most of the other trekkers camp. This day, the first part of the trek takes us to the Warmiwañuska Pass at 14,000 feet (4,200 meters). Walking on a remarkably preserved Inca trail, we pass ancient archaeological sites half covered by dense jungle overgrowth. A most rewarding day , with dream like landscapes of the Inca Trail to Machupichu , orchids , ferns multi colored birds and humming birds provide the ideal backstage, afterwards arriving to our camp at Paqaymayu 12,000 feet (3,500 meters) altitude (B+L+D).

Day 3. PAQAYMAYU / WIÑAY WAYNA After a nice hike of a few hours , walking through a place called Phuyupatamarca ( the City above the clouds), we arrive in WiñayWayma, a set of ancient ritual baths, where ancient travelers on the Inca trail to MachuPicchu would stop to bathe and purify themselves before arriving to the sacred Sanctuary we camp there. You can do the same and transport yourselves to the past. From your campsite you will enjoy spectacular views of snow- capped Andean ranges, such as the Salcantay 19,500 feet (6,200 meters) and Veronica 18,000 feet (6100 meters). (B+L+D).

Day 4. WIÑAY WAYNA/ MACHUPICCHU Leaving very early and after about two and a half hours walking you will arrive to Inti punku, (¨Sun Gate¨) where a magnificent view will be printed in your mind; the Sanctuary of Machupicchu, the ¨Lost City of the Incas¨. We'll visit it. Late afternoon train back to Cusco. (B+L)

INCLUDES : - Private transportation to the head of the trail. Km. 82 - 3 Nights in double-occupancy tents - Dining tent with tables and stools - Kitchen tent – Meals while in the hike-Professional and bilingual guide, cook and porters – tourist train back to Cusco, - Transfer from the train station to your hotel in Cusco - Clients do not carry anything but a day pack - Entrance ticket to the Inca Trail and Machupicchu, students with ISC get some discount).

DOES NOT INCLUDE: Sleeping bag, Personal equipment and clothing, we have available extra porters to carry your personal belongings.

THE OPTIONAL FIFTH DAY INKA TRAIL.
You can stay overnight on your own in Aguas Calientes and take the early train at 5.55a.m. on the 5th day from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo and then take a car pr a bus from there to Cusco, or we can provide you transportation which would be extra.
