Day 1: THE MONKEY ISLAND : We will arrive in Puerto Maldonado, Peru’s capital of biodiversity. You'll be picked up at the airport. We start our program with the tour of the city in our « Ecological Bus ». Then we will take a boat from the port along the Madre de Dios River to the Eco Amazonian Lodge. A delicious typical welcoming drink will be offered and accommodation in the bungalows will be provided. After that we'll have Lunch.

Guided by a specialist in natural life we will visit the Monkey Island in the heart of the Madre de Dios Jungle, a few minutes from the lodge.
All along this itinerary you will enjoy the marvelous landscapes with a rich diversity of flora and fauna. You will appreciate a great diversity of monkeys such as the “Maquisapa”, “Martin”, “Little lions”, “Frailes”, “Achuñis”, Ronsocos”, etc, as well as a rich variety of birds. You will be impressed by such a wonderful and unforgettable experience. To complete our tour of the island you will be able to enjoy the sunset, one of the most impressive phenomenon of the forest.

After breakfast, with a local guide, we will start our adventure through the depths of the virgin forest until we reach the Lost Cocha, shelter and food source for a great variety of animals such as otters, alligators, turtles, “sachavacas”, birds with colored feathers, the majestic jaguar and a great variety of fish. This place belongs to the Ecoamazonia Reserve and it is exceptional because it still has virgin marshes.

Day 2. APU VICTOR LAKE: We will arrive to the beautiful singing of birds. After breakfast we will start our itinerary with a walk through the depths of the forest along specially adapted pathways with bridges to cross the marshes. During our walk we will discover the Alligator’s Cave. Further on we will reach the fabulous Apu Victor Lake with its transparent waters surrounded by wide marshes and big trees. Afterwards, from our Amazonian Viewing Point (specially built), we will enjoy the view of the lake and observe the parrots, guacamayos, toucans, “camungos”, “shanshos”, herons, as well as turtles, and alligators. Then if we are lucky we might be able to appreciate one of the most fabulous animals of the jungle : The giant otter. Later on we will return to the lodge. we'll have our lunch. In the evening we will take a tour along the river to see the sunset. Visit a local family. Return. Dinner.

ECO BIRDWATCHING TOURS 3d/2n

This program is directed to specialists in the study of birds. ECOAMAZONÍA LODGE, offers platforms located strategically and in exclusive places for bird watching.

Always, with a specialist in nature guide, in hours that depend on the appropriate moment for the best observation, you are taken to suitable places just as beaches, marshes, lagoons, etc. where the greatest quantity and variety of birds can be observed.

The observer needs to go slowly and to wait the necessary time for the concentration of the different birds. You will remain in each place according to what you estimate convenient to fulfill your main goal which is the observation of birds.

During investigations carried out by TREES RAMOS (Tambopata Projects) we were considered as the reservation that harbors the biggest quantity of birds, that is what impelled us to take the initiative to elaborate and to put into practice this Program.
